Chamber Annual Banquet Kicks Off to Success in 2010
On Saturday January 9, 2010 the Community Chamber of Commerce of East Montgomery County celebrated their success during 2009 at the Annual Banquet with a “Tailgate” theme. The theme was selected to honor outgoing Chairman, Dr. Jon Kramer, who played college football at Baylor University.
During the evening Dr. Kramer was surprised when presented with his college football jersey that his wife Ann had just received from a family member, where it had been all these years. A slide show ran during the evening showing old photos of Dr. Kramer during his football days as well as photos of many local athletes that have gone on to play college or pro sports.
In keeping with the “Tailgate” theme, the tables were decorated with sports items and table sponsors decorated their tables using their favorite team’s colors and memorabilia. Guests were encouraged to show their team spirit and wear their team’s jerseys. The more casual dress code was appreciated by everyone since the temperature ran in the mid twenties that night.
The festivities included some friendly competition among the local dignitaries as Chamber President Andy Dill called on local elected officials to compete in the bean bag toss.
